The Apex 2XT clearly was designed with weather in mind, like most 3 season tents tend to be. There are demi-vestibules that are perfect for storing mud-caked hiking boots right near the door, while there are full vestibules that allow you to store larger gear, keeping it safe from the various elements that you may be dealing with. The vestibules, like the rest of the tent itself, are rugged and repel water greatly.
Ease of use was also surely in mind when this tent was designed. Set-up is a breeze thanks to the mesh rod sleeves and the poles are fiberglass, which makes them not only lighter but easier to fix or replace. The entire tent ways a mere six and a half pounds, as well, and can be packed down small enough to stick in most any backpack. This certainly is a benefit to the many campers who would love to have more comfort if it didn't mean sacrificing during the trip to the campsite by lugging heavy tent gear.
